No Holiday For Me

I did not have the day off work today. It was Martin Luther King Day, just in case anyone was wondering and the day in question is January 16th. Because I am pretty sure I don't know what day it is which is pretty awful for as early in the week as it is (assuming that it is early in the week which, since this is, I think, the wee hours of Tuesday morning it is only Tuesday, FFS).

Anyhow, I should be in bed now but I'm not. I am not in bed because I worked late by accident and then I had to get cat food (this was NOT optional) and by the time I finished at the grocery store it was nearly 8:30 and then I had to get home, put the groceries away, feed the chinchilla, feed the cat and then start doing all the things that needed to be done which included having some dinner which ended up being freeze dried peaches and Flipz which I am moderately certain sortve nutritionally cancel each other out and factor in some worry time when I heard from Mr. POSSLQ who thought they were exiling him to the road for another whole month but then he mentioned to them that he's already been on the road just short of forever and could he please have some home time and I guess they reconsidered and scheduled him for home time in about 10 days which is way more do-able than another whole month but still, it's winter and people, in general, are idiots when it comes to winter driving if there will be any sort of precipitation at all so I have to factor in some worry time, otherwise I end up multitasking and trying to fit worry into multitasking situations just doesn't work well.

Plus, tonight was the only night this week that I didn't have something planned. I have a really busy week and on one hand am thrilled to have all these opportunities and on the other hand can just see the big pile of exhausted I am going to be this weekend. Which would be ok, that's what weekends are for EXCEPT that I have to clean off Mr. POSSLQ's bed before he gets home or else he has to sleep on the air bed in the livingroom which I am sure would still (in his opinion) be better than where he has been sleeping but he would have a very rambunctious feline as a bunkmate and I am pretty sure that would be less than optimal.

And so, I am going to go into tomorrow on about 3 hours of sleep which is a very poor plan but there aren't enough hours in a day.

Unrelated, I got some blueberry muffin mix at the grocery store and noticed it needs eggs and I am pretty sure that I have eggs but I am not overly sure how old they are so I could end up making muffins of death this weekend...not to mention that there is no way I can eat a dozen muffins all by myself so I guess I will have breakfast for the week, too..at least until the muffins get gross and stale. Hmmm, maybe the muffin plan is not so good and I should wait until Mr. POSSLQ gets home and make him make me muffins have muffins with him. That doesn't solve my immediate muffin craving BUT it does make me have to suffer a little for my muffins and maybe that's sortve akin to the longing Mr. POSSLQ feels when he thinks of coming home. But his has less carbs.

You can mix up the muffin batter and then keep it in the fridge and make one or two at a time. The batter should be okay for several days. It's a pain (and okay, kind of a waste) to fire up the oven for a couple of muffins, but I find that it's worth it! :)

Put the eggs in a bowl of (I think cold) water. If they sink, they are still good...if they float, throw them out.

Oh yeah...or you could use Ener-G egg replacer. It stays good for forever it seems like and one box is the equivalent of 100 eggs.
