So, the past few days were spent getting things back in order, getting the house cleaned up and generally getting back on track (and making sure Mr. POSSLQ made it through his journey back to his homeland!)
Since I am off work until Monday, I had originally planned that today and tomorrow would be spent doing the cleaning, Saturday and Sunday would be the production of many new creations (bath fizzies, lip balm and a stab at "solid perfume"). I have scents. I have coloring. I have all that I need to do some serious creating (and there WILL be writing done this weekend, as well). Having the cleaning done puts me ahead of schedule, which is cool (there is still some "detailing" to be done... but the major work is out of the way).
I'm going to take a minute here to tell you that it took me two frickin' hours to vacuum yesterday because while my vacuum cleaner sucks, it does NOT suck in the way I want it to. Bottom line, you should NOT have to stop every five minutes to unclog something to regain suction. I've heard mighty good things about Dyson vacuum cleaners and while I personally think it's CRIMINAL to have to spend $400 on a vacuum cleaner, I am becoming more and more tempted if it means I don't have to spend two hours to vacuum the two rooms in the house that have carpeting (and this is a SMALL house, Internetz). In fact, I am thinking that the next place I move can damn well have hardwood or some other uncarpeted surface floors because this whole vacuuming thing pisses me right the fuck off.
Next step will be to actually catalog the components I have and then get down to the business of creating. I still need to find some good labels for the things that I make and, if everything goes as I hope, I will also need to do some work on the website that I have that I plan on utilizing for sales of my creations. (Yes, I will will add a link once I have things looking somewhat decent). So, if you see less of me for the next little while, that's why.
Turns out that there IS a wine tasting on Saturday. Which is really cool. I have to admit "Medusa Pig Pen Zinfandel" has me wondering!
Time to get to work!

We killed several vacuum cleaners on pet hair before we finally took the plunge and bought the Dyson "Animal". It works like a charm, and I wish we'd done it sooner.
Hardwood floors are the way to go! So easy to sweep up all the critter hair.
Perhaps your Vacuum just needs some repair. If it's too old, then a new one is the practical way. Sears Kenmore is very good and one of the least costly ones.
Carpet flooring actually 'contains' dust (until you get lax on vacuuming and then it starts to release said dust into the air, 'frequent' and 'SLOW' are the keys).
Hardwoods make for Dust 'having fun' when you walk across it, causing the dust to easily 'Dance' into the air. There is a reason we have nose hair.
